Buy a broad-spectrum tetracycline-class antibiotic

Doxycycline is a semisynthetic tetracycline-class antibiotic with a wide spectrum of action, it is used to treat infectious diseases of bacterial etiology.

The antibiotic doxycycline was synthesized in the early 1960s. Like other tetracycline-class drugs, since the 1970s it has been actively used in animal husbandry as a growth stimulant for animals. In the 1990s, a decrease in the sensitivity of microorganisms to all tetracyclines, including pathogens of human infectious diseases, was noticed. In 2006, the use of antibiotics as growth promoters in animal husbandry was banned in the European Union, in 2017 — in the United States.  After that, in veterinary medicine and medicine, there is a restoration of the sensitivity of microorganisms to all tetracycline-class antibiotics, including doxycycline.

Before buying doxycycline from our pharmacy, consult with your doctor to clarify the need of taking this antibiotic and to clarify the sensitivity of specific bacteria to it.

How does Doxycycline work?

Doxycycline has a bacteriostatic effect by suppressing the protein synthesis of pathogens. It is active against a number of aerobic gram-positive and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Doxycycline practically does not inhibit the normal intestinal microflora; in some cases, this is an important argument for its use when choosing a treatment regimen.

How to use Doxycycline?

Doxycycline is used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to doxycycline: infections of the respiratory system and ENT organs; gastrointestinal infections; purulent infections of the skin and soft tissues, including acne; infections of the genitourinary system (urethritis, gonorrhea, syphilis); Lyme disease (tick-borne borreliosis), typhus, brucellosis, rickettsioses, osteomyelitis, trachoma, chlamydia, and anaplasmosis.

The treatment regimen, the required dosage and the form of release of the drug are selected individually by the attending physician, depending on the disease, its severity and individual reactions of the patient's body to the active substance. When treating with doxycycline and any other antibiotics, it is important to strictly follow the prescribed treatment regimen, even if the symptoms of the disease have already passed.

You can order doxycycline in the dosage and form of release best to your treatment regimen in our pharmacy.

What contraindications Doxycycline has?

Doxycycline is contraindicated in people with hypersensitivity to tetracycline-class antibiotics, as well as in patients with porphyria, severe liver failure, and leukopenia.

Tetracyclines used during the formation and development of teeth can lead to developmental disorders that can range from persistent discoloration, even (in extremely severe cases) to a complete delay in their growth. Therefore, with the exception of vital indications, the use of tetracyclines in the second half of pregnancy, during breastfeeding, and also in children earlier than 8 years of age is not allowed.

You can get acquainted with the complete list of contraindications, possible side effects and drug interactions in the official instructions attached to doxycycline when ordering it in our pharmacy.
