An effective remedy for fighting herpes viruses

Valtrex is an antiviral drug that is effective for treating infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by herpes simplex viruses of the first and second types, including genital herpes and labial herpes. It is also used to treat herpes zoster, herpes zoster ophthalmic, and to prevent cytomegalovirus infection after transplantation. The active ingredient of it is valacyclovir. You can order Valtrex at a low price right now in our pharmacy.

How does Valtrex work?

In the human body, valacyclovir is rapidly and completely converted to acyclovir, under the influence of the enzyme valacyclovir hydrolase. Further action of acyclovir is associated with its similarity with guanosine, which is a normal component of DNA. In the course of a number of microbiological reactions, acyclovir inhibits the processes occurring in the viral DNA, while the drug acts selectively on the synthesis of viral DNA. The replication of the host cell DNA (human cells) is practically not affected by its metabolites.

In immunocompromised patients, herpes simplex viruses and varicella-zoster virus with reduced sensitivity to valacyclovir are extremely rare, but sometimes they can be detected in patients with severely impaired immunity, for example, with a bone marrow transplant, in chemotherapy for malignant neoplasms and in HIV-infected.

How to use Valtrex?

Valtrex is available in the form of oral tablets. The dosage and treatment regimen for such viral drugs depends on the specific disease, its severity and individual reactions to the components of the drug.  Before ordering Valtrex in our pharmacy, you should consult with your doctor.

In patients with severe immunodeficiency, prolonged or repeated courses of therapy with valtrex or similar drugs can lead to the formation of resistant strains, and therefore further treatment with them may be ineffective.

What contraindications Valtrex has?

Among the contraindications for the use of Valtrex is hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as to acyclovir, ganciclovir or any auxiliary substance of the drug. It should be taken with caution in case of dehydration, renal failure, neurological disorders.

Side effects are rare. The drug is usually easily tolerated. Headache and nausea are the most common possible complications. The side effects from taking Valtrex are reversible and are usually observed in patients with impaired renal function or against the background of other predisposing conditions. A complete list of contraindications and side effects from taking Valtrex can be found in the official instructions when ordering this drug in our pharmacy.
